ABOUT TERNES FARM ,
THE FARM,

When Ternes Farm was first created, the idea for the property was for that of breeding and raising Thoroughbred Race Horses, many of which were raced at Hastings Park among many other well established Horse Race Tracks.
Ternes Farm was built and established by Ben Ternes. He ran the business for many years both on his own and with partners, becoming quite sucessful at the business until 2008.
It was in 2008 that the Ternes family suffered a great loss when Ben passed away and his wife Susan and two daughters Amanda and Sonya were left with a large barn and empty stalls.
Over the next few years many friendships were made, and others growning stronger as Amanda and Susan began to pick up where Ben had left off. With the help of friend Sarah, everyone began to see a future once again for the beautiful barn.
In 2009 the business began to take off! They have been working towards making the business a success and already have several clients and horses on the property!
They are always looking for more boarders and love meeting new people! So be sure to take a look at the rest of the site!

IN MEMORIAM- BEN TERNES( MARCH 14 2008),

Ben Ternes was not just one of Canada's most successful horse breeders; he was a wonderful friend, and father.
He first came to Canada as a young child and immigrated into Saskatchewan. A few years later he moved to BC and from there got into the business of Horses and Breeding Race Horses.
"In 1994, they purchased U.S. based Vying Victor, who at age four retired with earnings of $537,414. After arriving to begin stallion duties at Ternes Farm in Langley, the young sire soon became successful. Good enough to give breeding in this province a healthy shot in the arm and also help generate interest throughout Canada and the U.S.
During their time spent together over 14 years, the many achievements accomplished by Vying Victor proved rewarding to Ternes.
In 1997,[Vying Victor] ranked among the top ten sires in North America. His foals, including Dancewithavixen, Ultimate Force, Alabama Rain and Elana D'Amour, have earned $14,271,503, while winning 26 stake races. " -The Vancouver Province
The untimely passing of both Ben and Vying Victor was an unexpected tragedy. Though despite the sadness, Ben was and remains an inspiration to keep going with the Farm and everyone who works there feels his presence every day. He will never be forgotten.
